ENTRY RESTRICTIONS DUE TO COVID 19
- Before traveling, residents returning to Dubai still need to get permission. Those returning to other areas of the UAE do not need approval anymore.
- Currently, tourist and visitor visas are only provided by the Dubai authorities. Tourists and visitors can't travel to Abu Dhabi by plane.
- Travelers from the United Kingdom to Dubai have the option of either submitting a pre-departure COVID-19 Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) negative test valid for 96 hours from the date of the test or taking a PCR test on arrival at Dubai airport.
- Travelers to the rest of the UAE must have had a COVID-19 PCR test conducted within 96 hours and obtained a negative result prior to their departure (there are exemptions for Emirati citizens). You will also need to perform a second test on arrival, depending on your port of entry. Travelers entering Abu Dhabi are also required to wear a wristband issued by the government, complete a self-isolation or quarantine period of at least 14 days, and have at least two more COVID-19 PCR tests during this period.
- You would need to have a negative COVID-19 PCR test result taken within 96 hours before your departure if you depart from Abu Dhabi to the EU and the UK. For trips from Dubai to the UK, this no longer applies.
- You must have a negative test result within 96 hours of your departure from the UAE if you are traveling from the UAE to other countries that need a negative COVID-19 PCR test before arrival.
