With an action-packed opening weekend of fantastic live music, amazing markets, and family entertainment, the Dubai Shopping Festival (DSF) starts on December 17, 2020. This year, with a mega celebration of all that makes Dubai such a wonderful place to visit, shop, live, and play, the Dubai Shopping Festival is celebrating its 26th year. Each DSF participating venue adheres to strict rules on health, protection, and cleanliness, with temperature controls taken at all entry points, masks worn at all times, rules on social distance observed, and restricted visitor numbers.
On the first day of the two-day DSF opening celebration at Etisalat Market OTB in Burj Park, Downtown Dubai, Arabic music superstars Hussain Al Jassmi and Tamer Hosny will headline the event. On December 17, Hussain and Tamer will perform. The performance is sold out, but it will be shown live at 8.30 pm on MBC 1 and Wanasah. The moderator of the case will be TV presenter Lojain Omran.
Anne-foreign Marie's phenomenon and Clean Bandit's pop act, who will perform a DJ set alongside vocalist Yasmin Green, will play at Etisalat Market OTB on December 18, which will also feature exclusive F&B vendors and family events. Doors will open from 12 pm and concert seats will start at 5 pm with Dh50 tickets available from DubaiCalendar.com, Platinumlist.net, or on the Dubai Calendar app available on iOS and Android.
The hip hop sounds of Arabic rappers A.L.A and Jenjoon will also be welcomed by Sheikh Rashid Hall at the Dubai World Trade Centre for the RAP Beats concert on 18 December. A double bill of live hip hop by two of the biggest stars of the area rap scene, the evening is a perfect complement to the musical styles of the DSF. Around 7 pm, the doors will open.
The Etisalat Market OTB and the Dubai Shopping Festival Market at Al Khawaneej, a firm favorite for locals, tourists, and families, will welcome guests from the opening day on 17 December.
A series of 'Alice in Wonderland' thematic children's entertainment will be staged at the Dubai Shopping Festival Market at Al Khawaneej, with a weekly lineup of events and attractions. The theme of 'Through Alice's Lens' will be the opening week, and families will enjoy regular stage events, game shows, musical performances, storytelling sessions, and even the tea party of a Mad Hatter. Opening hours are from Sunday to Wednesday, from 6 pm to 12 am, and from 4 pm to 2 am on Thursday to Saturday.
This year's Etisalat Market OTB will feature a variety of exclusive vendors, movie nights, and live talent contests with a focus on music, color, fashion, and food, as well as Food Lane, a new F&B concept that will serve tasty Korean and Asian street food treats.

Over the opening weekend, DSF's diverse schedule of live concerts and activities features some wonderful holiday shows and favorite stories of children brought to life for young people of all ages to enjoy.
A special showing of The Snowman, a classic Christmas movie, will be shown at the Mall of the Emirates Theatre on December 18 and December 22-24, with the final show on December 26. The magical show is based on the much-loved book by Raymond Brigg and includes the classic song 'Walking in the Air' by Howard Blake.
The Palm Fountain, the largest fountain show in the world, located at The Pointe on Palm Jumeirah, will entertain tourists during DSF with regular shows. The Palm Fountain offers an incredible backdrop to the range of waterfront restaurants of the destination, captivating dinners with a moving water performance and thundering music, including the 'Dubai Kawkab Akhar' song by Rashed Al Majed. The first show starts at 6 pm, with the last one on weekdays at 10.30 pm and on weekends at 12 am.
The city malls and leisure destinations will host roaming in-mall entertainment and family-friendly performers beginning from the DSF opening weekend and continuing every weekend until January 30. Rainbow Wings, a vivid and glamorous dance act that floats effortlessly and gracefully through venues, and Flow Artist, also known as Humaid Al Dhahery, the first Emirati circus dancer, are artists performing on the opening weekend.
With his flashing suit, eccentric dance steps, slick circus tricks, and a techno soundtrack complete with intense lasers that shoot from his hands and forehead, Flow Artist will dazzle.
The Souk Madinat Jumeirah will host the Digital Art Exhibition 'From Monet to Kandinsky' during DSF. The works of 9 exemplary masters, including Georges Seurat, Vincent Van Gogh, Claude Monet, Edvard Munch, Juan Gris, Robert Delaunay, Paul Klee, Wassily Kandinsky, and Paul Cézanne include groundbreaking art. Admission costs are between Dh45 and Dh150.

The What The Food event will welcome foodies to Alserkal Avenue from December 17 to 19 for excellent meals, outstanding tastes, and special dining experiences. Akiba Dori Tokyo-style Neapolitan pizzas, Chalk Christmas-themed ice cream, Pulled's bicycle stall for lemonade, The Little Katsu Shop, Candylicious, and much more can be explored by diners. Torrija, Wild & the Moon, FOMO, and Saj&Co, members of the Avenue Band, will all showcase limited-edition menu items.
SALT will host its brand-new F&B and retail concept, Salt Camp, at DIFC beginning on the opening weekend and running throughout DSF.
The DSF Supercar Raffle will give a Dh6 million UAE-made Fenyr sportscar to one lucky winner, the highest value raffle in DSF's history. On March 30, 2021, the raffle will run until the winner is revealed. A total of 3,500 tickets valued at Dh1,500 each will be sold online. A collectible Fenyr SuperSport scale model will be given to those who buy a ticket.
From 17 December to 30 January, the Dubai Gold & Jewellery Group (DGJG) will hold a grand raffle, with a total of 25kg of gold to be won. The raffle will be attended by residents and tourists buying jewelry at each of the 180 participating DGJG outlets throughout Dubai, including Deira Gold Souk, Meena Bazaar, and the city's malls.
