Dubai Museum: Hidden Treasures Unveiled 2024

United Arab Emirates Dubai's Museum of the Future includes three essential components: a green hill, a structure, and a vacuum. The Dubai Future Foundation established it. It was planned for 2021 but was only partially open as of December of that year. The Museum was subsequently inaugurated on February 22, 2022, by the United Arab Emirates government.

LOCATION  

The torus-shaped skyscraper, close to the Burj Khalifa and situated next to Dubai's elevated railway line, creates a loop around a vacuum intended to symbolize unknowable knowledge.  

HISTORY

Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the vice president and prime minister of the United Arab Emirates and ruler of Dubai, declared plans to establish the Museum of the Future on March 4, 2015, following its unveiling at the Government Summit in February 2015. 

On February 7, 2016, Mohammed bin Rashid inaugurated the Museum of the Future as a component of the 2016 World Government Summit. 

Mohammed bin Rashid established the Dubai Future Foundation on April 24, 2016. The Museum of the Future was included in the Dubai Future Foundation due to the new arrangement.  

During the World Government Summit, the Museum of the Future temporarily opened in Madinat Jumeirah on February 10, 2017, and February 9, 2018.  

BUILDING COMPOSITION

One of the newest museums, the Museum of the Future intricate buildings in the world, was created by the architecture firm Killa Design and built by Buro Happold. The building's torus-shaped shell comprises 1,024 fire-resistant composite panels covered in stainless steel, each of which is formed in a distinctive 3D way to represent the Arabic letter. Emirati artist Matar Bin Lahej penned the Arabic calligraphy carved quotations at the Museum of the Future in Dubai. Regarding environmental certification, the structure aims for a LEED Platinum rating.  

FUTURE MUSEUM WITH CALLIGRAPHY ON THE WALLS

The outside of the Museum of the Future in Dubai, engineered by Buro Happold and designed by architecture firm Killa Design, is nearly finished, as shown in photos. The Museum of the Future's construction aimed to have a dynamic form that portrays the Dubai government's image of the Future.   

Sheikh Mohammed, the ruler of Dubai, wrote a poem in Arabic calligraphy on the building's facade that describes his plans for the Future of the metropolis. Using innovative parametric modelling methods, Killa Design and Buro Happold produced the required form and distinctive cladding while pursuing a LEED Platinum sustainability certification.  

Among them was a "growth algorithm" applied to "digitally develop" the steel framework of the skyscraper.  

CONCEPT  

According to the Museum of the Future, in addition to hosting inventions and serving as a centre that gathers academics, designers, innovators, and capitalists under one roof, it aspires to inspire answers to the problems that future cities will confront.  

Innovation labs for various industries will be housed inside the Museum, including health, education, intelligent buildings, energy, and transportation.   

EXHIBITIONS 

Since its founding in 2016, the Museum of the Future has hosted several exhibitions as a part of the Worldwide Government Summit. Each show featured a distinct theme that highlighted the function of technology in many industries.  

MACROSCOPIC LIFE

In The Mechanic Life Exhibition in Oct 2016, research was conducted on using intelligent robots to understand emotions.  

REIMAGINING CLIMATE CHANGE

Dubai 2050 to examine how humankind may flourish by embracing radical technologies despite the effects of climate change and global warming; the event, presented in 2017, selected a subject set in 2050.  

PEOPLE 2.0

The Museum of the Future's sixth exhibition, which centred on the human mind and body and examined the idea of human augmentation, was presented in 2019.
